In this essay I will be telling you why the giver book is better than the movie using three supporting reasons. My three reasons are the book was the original story, The book does a better job of describing the story, and you can enjoy it for as long as you want.
The book was better for many reasons. My first reason is that the book is the original story. Since the book was made before the movie, when the movie had dramatic changes it didn’t feel quite right since it’s supposed it to be like the book. Also In the book you could just make up in your head what the characters looked liked, but in the movie they chose what the characters looked like, so some of them you don’t like. And finally In the book the Journey with Gabe was long and in the movie it was short, so you didn’t really get to see the details of the trip with Gabe to beyond the perimeter.
My next reason why the book is better than the movie is because the book does a better job of describing the story. An example of this is the book gives you all the details of how Jonas becomes the receiver of memory and what he has to do, but in the movie you kind of have to figure it out yourself. Also the book does a good job of describing how the community works and how it runs. While in the movie Jonas briefly talked about it at the beginning of the movie and then you have to figure it out as the movie goes on.The reason the book is able to fit in all the details and the movie can’t, is because the book has as many pages as it needs to fit the whole story in, and the movie has to try and fit the whole story in about an hour and a half. This is a big reason why the book is better than the movie.
My last reason why the book is better than the movie is because You can enjoy the story for a longer amount of time. An example of this is kind of what I said before. You only get to enjoy or watch the movie for a certain amount of time, but you can take as long as you want to read and take in the book. And to really understand and enjoy the giver you need to take your time and be able to get all the details. And the book allows you to do just that. Being able to take your time and really enjoy what you're doing (or in this case reading) can really help you understand what’s going on. This is why I chose this for my last reason of why the giver book is better than the movie. In these paragraphs I told you how the giver book is better than the movie. I explained this using these three reasons, The book was the original story, the book does a better job of describing and giving all the details, and you can enjoy the story for a longer amount of time. As you can see the book for the Giver is better than movie.

In the story the landscape of memory it talked about people that could remember things very well. I think it is amazing how some people can remember things that well. I wonder what in that person makes them able to recall and remember things like people's names so well.

I finish reading the giver and it ended on him looking at the glowing lights on the home after he sledded down the hill. I think that during the sequels since Gabe will grow up with the memories that he will make a chage in the community. I wonder if the sled was the exact sled in the memory or if it was just similar.

During the part of the Giver I read Jonas started his trip out of the community to beyond with Gabe. I think that it would be a better Idea to just transport Jonas's memories to Gabe and then when Gabe was released the memories would be in the community. I wonder what cliff hanger we will be left on because there is hardly any of the book left and Jonas and Gabe are in the middle of their journey.

In chapter 20 the giver and Jonas were talking about how Jonas is going to escape the community. And the giver told jonas that his daughters name is rosemary even though that name is forbidden. I think that the giber didn't apply for a kid and ha his own because the people wouldn't give that name to the baby. I wonder why one of the other receivers didn't try to escape and realize the memories to the community.
